Review Investor publishes independent reviews of investors and fund managers in the public interest. This page explains the standards we hold ourselves to and the limits of what our content is.
Opinion, not a statement of guilt
Our ratings (0–10) and verdicts (Avoid, Caution, Trusted) are statements of editorial opinion based on disclosed facts. Reasonable people can disagree with an opinion. Where we describe events, we aim to report only what appears in public records or credible reporting, and we cite our sources.
Allegations vs. findings — the presumption of innocence
We clearly distinguish between:
- Allegations — claims made in a lawsuit, complaint, or report that have not been proven.
- Findings — outcomes actually determined by a court or regulator (judgments, convictions, sanctions).
Being named as a defendant, or being investigated, is not a finding of wrongdoing. Every person is presumed innocent unless and until a court rules otherwise. We do not describe someone as having "committed a crime" unless there is a criminal conviction on the public record, and each review carries a "Public record" status label so the standing of every matter is clear.
Fair reporting of public proceedings
Much of our reporting summarizes official public records — court dockets and filings, and actions by regulators such as the SEC, FINRA, and the FTC. We aim to make those summaries fair and accurate and to attribute them to the source, and we link to the underlying records wherever possible so you can read them yourself.

Accuracy and updates
We work to be accurate as of the publication date, but records change and errors happen. If facts change, our ratings change. If you believe something is inaccurate, please use our corrections & removals policy — we take every good-faith request seriously.
