Our Methodology

Every review on Review Investor follows the same process. The goal is simple: claims you can check, not opinions you have to take on faith.

The rating scale

  • 0–3 · Avoid — serious, documented red flags (regulatory action, fraud allegations, investor lawsuits).
  • 4–6 · Caution — mixed signals; proceed only with extra diligence.
  • 7–10 · Trusted — strong, verifiable, long-term track record and transparency.

What we weigh

  • Track record — verifiable performance over time, not marketing claims.
  • Regulatory history — actions, terminations, and disclosures on file.
  • Legal disputes — lawsuits and complaints, especially recurring patterns.
  • Transparency — how openly the investor documents and explains what they do.
  • Investor outcomes — firsthand accounts, vetted against records.

Sources we rely on

  • FINRA BrokerCheck — broker/adviser disclosures and regulatory events.
  • SEC EDGAR & enforcement actions — filings and proceedings.
  • Court dockets — PACER (federal) and state court portals.
  • Reputable reporting and primary documents.

Verify it yourself

We show our sources so you don't have to trust us blindly. For any investor, pull their BrokerCheck record, search SEC actions, and read the actual court filings before making a decision.

A note on fairness. Negative reviews are written as opinion grounded in public information, and we distinguish allegations from findings. If facts change, the rating changes — and subjects can request corrections at any time via our corrections policy.
